Bad Axe, directed by David Siev, is more than a vérité feature documentary. It’s an intimate and beautiful portrait of an American family in 2020. I love this film so much and poured my heart into working on it. I hope everyone gets a chance to see it and enjoys the life and resilience of the Siev family. Jude Hope Harris, Kat Vasquez and Diane Quon served as producers. Peter Wagner was also an editor. Original music is composed by Stephanie Kowal. The film has been acquired by IFC.

Logline

Asian-American filmmaker David Siev turns his camera on to his family living in Trump’s rural America, as they fight to keep their restaurant and American dream alive in the face of a pandemic, Neo-Nazis and generational scars from the Cambodian Killing Fields.
